Capitalism Fatigue

I have capitalism fatigue. Who thought this was a good idea?
Sometimes I wonder if I’m this stressed and overwhelmed because of the complex trauma and what I hold inside, or if it’s because my soul sees this life so clearly– and it’s just completely and utterly heartbroken over what humans have chosen on this planet. It’s all so unnecessary– the hate, the death, the starvation, the destruction, the rape; all of it is so completely and utterly unnecessary. Capitalism is unnecessary. We have everything we need on this planet for everyone to survive and thrive. Yet we choose to extract at unsustainable levels– for unrealistic goals, for ego, because a handful of men decided that accumulating wealth (that isn’t even real) was more important than protecting life, and my soul is tired.
I used to think that I wasn’t competitive due to a lack of belief in myself, like I just knew I wouldn’t win. There is some truth to that, but that’s not why I am not competitive in a capitalist sort of way. It’s because I’m not a consumer; my energy is very Jupiter in Cancer. It’s quiet, sustaining, nourishing, building– foundational. That is who I am. I quietly create things– an offer, a course, a product– then when the world catches up and turns it into an influencer gimmick, I lose interest. It’s not because I feel like I can’t compete. It’s because I don’t want to. It gives me the ick, and I cannot get past it. That energy is incongruent with my soul.
So, here I am. Quietly building a foundation for a world in violent transition. Making sure that foundation is solid—with bricks of unconditional love, respect, human rights, safety…a foundation that holds no space for the violence of capitalism under patriarchy. Weeding out all the internalized beliefs and structures embedded by the old system so they are not brought forward.
This is our work right now, and I am so sad and furious that we are all so collectively overwhelmed that many are unable to make time and space for it. So afraid, they don’t want to look, to feel. I get it. I do. We have been conditioned to hand over this power…the power of creation. It’s an atrophied muscle that we must start exercising again.
You are not broken.
You have been systematically overwhelmed by a system designed to extract your magick—for it’s own gain.
We can do this, together. I know we can.
