What is Biodynamic Craniosaral Therapy?

In the Biodynamic approach, the healing process comes from within the client, not from the outside by the practitioner, and the hand contacts are based on listening and following/reflecting the client’s process rather than pushing or manipulating the client towards a theoretical ideal state.

I believe in you and your body's ability to heal. I believe in your innate intelligence, always guiding you in your highest and greatest good.

Embrace the Flow

The purpose of Biodynamic Craniosacral therapy is to work with all of the components of the central nervous system so it can regain its inherent balance and function.  When this happens, many of the body’s dysfunctions are alleviated.  The primary focus is on reconnecting with the forces of Health that are always present within the body’s physiology. (Biodynamic = life force).
Craniosacral therapy is a hands-on approach that involves deep listening with the hands to the body’s subtle rhythms to discover patterns of resistance and congestion.  Treatment consists of delicate interaction with the bones, soft tissue and fluid to return tissues to healthy motion, thus encouraging the body’s self-healing and self-regulation.  The work is very gentle and non-invasive.  Subtle suggestions are introduced through the practitioners hands to help restore balance in areas that have been affected by trauma.  With this skillful touch, the practitioner can assist the body to resolve patterns of disorder; in other words, stimulate healing from within.

An Holistic Approach

Craniosacral therapy takes a whole-person approach to healing.  The interconnections of mind, body and spirit are acknowledged, as well as how the body reflects experiences and retains the memory of trauma.  It is an effective form of treatment for a wide range of illnesses and discomforts including acute and chronic conditions.
Craniosacral therapy is suitable for people of all ages, including babies, children and the elderly.

Holding Sacred Space

A Conversation 3/26/2015
Client: How do you do this?
Me: what is that?
Client: Bring me this clarity. When I am here, all the other stuff just falls away and I am able to feel and hear exactly what is important.
Me: That's called holding sacred space. Think of it like this. When we are out in the world, most of the time we are so inundated with information and energy (both from within our minds and in our environment) that it feels like we are walking around in between radio stations. Static, feedback, voices talking, a random tune floating through…it can be challenging to hear our inner voice, if we even know what it sounds like anymore! When someone holds sacred space for you, they are tuning in the channel, so your voice and your truth is loud and clear. And then they teach you how to do that for yourself.
Client: Doesn't that exhaust you?
Me: It is one of my greatest joys. It is the gift of my work in biodynamic craniosacral therapy.

Touching the Surface

Touch the Divine Within

Modern medicine’s obsession to fight disease and eliminate its symptoms, without considering causes, reveals a basic mistrust of the intelligence of the body.  The approach of craniosacral work, is to support our health.  Our fundamental resource of health is the biodynamic potency of the Breath of Life.  It is this potency which intelligently holds us throughout our lives and experience. ~author unknown

"The fluctuation of the cerebrospinal fluid creates a variety of tides within the system. As the practitioner — from a place of stillness — listens to these internal tides, the client’s system begins to access its own inner resources, like finding keys to previously locked doors. The cerebrospinal fluid — as it bathes and protects the brain and spinal cord — carries an intelligence and potency (life force), which becomes mixed with other bodily fluids via the dural membranes. A Biodynamic Craniosacral therapist learns to listen deeply to the system, tapping into its inherent intelligence, while focusing on the system remembering its original blueprint of health." -excerpt from craniosacraltherapy.org

Rewriting the Past Through the Body: How Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy Supports Deep Emotional Healing

Our bodies remember everything — not always in words or pictures, but in subtle patterns of tension, breath, and energy. Sometimes these old patterns hold memories of fear, pain, or loss that our minds have long forgotten.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) offers a gentle, safe way for the body to revisit and reorganize those deep memories — not by re-living them, but by meeting them within a field of safety and compassion.

A Safe Space for the Nervous System to Rest

Every session begins with grounding and presence. Together, we create a space where your system feels deeply supported and unhurried. This sense of safety is what allows old protective patterns to loosen and reveal what’s underneath.

Meeting What Arises

As your body settles, sensations or emotions may quietly surface — warmth, tingling, tears, memories, or simply a sense of movement deep inside.

In BCST, nothing is forced or analyzed. We meet whatever appears with calm awareness. The body remembers that it’s safe now — that the old story no longer defines the present moment.

Repatterning From the Inside Out

This gentle coexistence of past and present — old fear held within new safety — is what allows the nervous system to rewrite its response. The result is a soft yet powerful reorganization of your inner world: less reactivity, more ease, and a deeper sense of wholeness.

Integration and Renewal

After a session, you may feel lighter, clearer, or more spacious inside. Sometimes change is subtle; sometimes profound. Either way, your body continues integrating, finding its own rhythm and coherence long after you leave the table.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy doesn’t push for release — it listens for it.

Through deep stillness and attuned presence, your system finds its own way home, gently updating the past so you can live more fully in the present.
