What's in a Box?
Whatever is blooming and growing right now! That is our most important medicine. Here are some examples of what WILD FOOD you can expect in your boxes over the season...

• Herbal/floral scones or muffins...dandelion, violet, wildflowers or savory with onion grass or garlic mustard
• Vinegars- infused with deeply nutritive herbs and flowers
• Oxymels- herbal infused vinegar and local honey
• Gnocchi/pasta is a possibility as well...
Please let me know about dietary restrictions. I cannot accommodate every issue but there are substitutions I can make for some items. Most baking is done paleo/primal. I do use real grass fed butter. I will use real cheeses in the pestos. If you are a vegan...the medicine only box may be a better fit...however, I do use beeswax in my salves and lip balms.
As for the medicinal component, once again that will be dictated by what's in season.

Beltane Box, Sneak Peak

This is what I am working on for the Beltane Box. It's a Faery Tea Party! Let's welcome the Fae to play this May Day with Dandelion blossom scones and violet jelly, a savory garlic mustard and chickweed pesto, a Clean Green Spring Tonic Vinegar, a deeply nutrifying and restorative tea, Crabapple Flower Essence: Giddy Joy, and an easy to make Drawing Herbal Clay Poultice to help ease the itch of those early to wake mosquitoes and hungry spiders. Also included will be the Chickweed chapter from the Spring Equinox volume of my book EarthDeva Oracle.

June CSA Box: Nettles Love! 4 Stinging Nettles spanikopita, 4 nettles cupcakes with lilac buttercream, an allergy elixir to boost immunity and calm histamine, a Wild Weed vinaigrette emulsified with ground chia seed and a plantain diy salve.
July CSA Box! Lavender Linden Shortbread cookies, Faery Pesto, Gaia's Gentle Shelter bug repellent, Sun-kissed body balm--great for any type of burn, Hibiscus Mint Iced Tea, Herbal Bitters (your choice of Citrus Hibiscus or Green Lady) and Naked Cocoa Butter Lip Balm. This box celebrates late June and July scents and flavors! What's blooming now? St. John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum) contained in Sun-Kissed Balm, Lavender (Lavendula angustifolia) in the cookies and Linden Blossoms (Tilia sp) contained in both the cookies and the iced tea, Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) and Catnip (Nepeta cataria) both in Gaia's Gentle Shelter, Motherwort (Leonurus cardiaca) is one of the foundational bitter herbs in all of my Herbal Bitters. Faery Pesto (sorry for the blurry photo) has lamb's quarters, stinging nettle, monarda, dandelion leaf, plantain leaf, wood sorrel...so much more.
August CSA Box! Holy Basil Scones with Chai scented Streusel, Monarda Oxymel, Jewelweed Spray, Heal's All Boo Boo Stick, Queen Anne's Lace Jelly and Heart Elixir. The focus of this box is nurturing, something we could all use. Tulsi (holy basil) is a deeply restorative herb. It helps the body to remember how to handle stress without sending us into energy debt. I used the flower petals and leaves to scent these delicate primal scones and added a lightly scented Chai spice in the streusel on top. Jewelweed is a water loving plant that happens to grow right next to poison ivy! Nature will often place an antidote close at hand and here she is. Use this spray on areas that have been exposed to help neutralize the oils until you can get home and wash with cool water and soap. It can also be used on a current poison ivy rash to speed healing. Boo Boo Stick is your alternative to petroleum based antibacterial ointments...and it, too is great for the end stages of a poison ivy rash, gently guiding the skin to healing. Queen Anne's Lace says high summer. Her beautiful lacy and fragrant blossoms carpet meadows and fields much to the delight of all the pollinators. Monarda Oxymel made with wild bee balm is lovely wild food. Great on salads or just on it's own to help aid digestion or clear stuffy allergy sinuses. Finally, our Heart Elixir. The crown jewel in this box. She surrounds your heart with a loving hug.
Don't miss another box!

September CSA Box! Shifting into Fall, shifts the focus of the CSA boxes from wild foods to wild medicines to keep us healthy through the winter months. You will get items to boost immunity as well as items to support your body if you do get sick. SOUPer Tea is my savory tea great as a mid-day snack/pick-me-up, for fasting or when you are sick and feel like you need to eat but are not sure your tummy wants solid food, Elderberry Syrup, my syrup is formulated to be used daily as an immune builder, Echinacea x2 is a tincture of both echinacea angustifolia root and echinacea purpurea, whole plant, Jewelweed soap, to be used as a preventative before going out into poison ivy territory and as a wash afterward, the cookies? I honestly can't remember what they were...lol Some type of pinwheel with raspberry jam.

June CSA Box! Sorry, no photo this month. I am out of town and the products I made here did not have labels or fancy packaging and the other half of the box was compiled at home so...This month I made a lovely Rose Berry Syrup, bright red with the heady fragrance of roses, and Strawberry Sage Blossom crisp muffins. Also included, Gaia's Gentle Shelter (bug spray), Bloomin' Sexy Mint Tea, and Sleep Elixir.
August CSA Box! Being away from my gardens and my land has been a struggle, I'll be honest. My parent's yard has pretty flowers but my Dad treated the lawn and what few edibles grow here, I don't feel comfortable using. We skipped July due to extreme stress. These are the treats that I prepared for this month. A delightfully spicy and herby chimichurri...it was so good, I can hardly explain. Earl Grey Shortbread cookies and herbal crackers, turmeric, rosemary, sesame and caraway. There were medicines, too. They were individualized for each member this month.
February CSA Box! We are getting back on track this month! Courier is on his way so deliveries will happen! Shipping is also available!
I have a new product I am debuting in the CSA box, Inflamm-ease, an energetically balanced blend featuring turmeric, solomon seal, milky oats and skullcap. It works and it's tasty! Bonus! Also in the box, ImmuniTea, Deva Magick Spray, Grounding, Cherish Sacred Essence, and Rose and Damiana infused raw cacao truffles!
