What does "Double Extract" mean?
When a product is double extracted it means that it is put through 2 separate processes in order to extract the full complement of constituents from the plant/mushroom. This process is employed typically with plants/mushrooms that have a diverse array of constituents that require different mediums of extraction. Some will extract readily into alcohol, some require a water extraction process. Medicinal mushrooms are such a being. Into the water, they give their polysaccharides which exercise our immune system by stimulating production of helper T cells. These polysaccharides (also called Gandoderic acids in the Reishi mushroom) have been shown to have anti-coagulating effects on the blood with some studies showing that they can modulate blood pressure and lower cholesterol.
